Holy fried carp on a campfire smores stick, FINALLY. Ugh, this chapter took FOREVER. How long did it take, you ask? Why, almost exactly ONE YEAR (the cover to this chapter went up on January 25, 2009). Half a night went by in the comic, and it took an entire year. WTF. W.T.F.
But enough griping! A celebration is in order! I am now approximately only a few pages away from my original goal I had in mind waaaaay back in 2004 when I started this comic. The original goal was get to chapter 9. YES, I am aware that 8 comes right before 9, an chapter 8 just finished, but my novel is set up in 4 books. Book I was The Past, and includes Interim Chapter I (When Caspian and Ian on the Sacred Isles). Book II is The Present, and includes Interim Chapter II. I use these Interims to introduce to people or places, and you get BOTH in this coming mini chapter. I already spilled the beans weeks ago--you guys get to meet the Winds! Well, 3 of them, anyway.
What this means for me is a change of scenery. NO MORE NIGHTTIME DRAMA. No more blood. It's daylight! There is a SUN. That is VISIBLE. Holy flying fig I am so tired of moonlight and firelight you have no idea.
Speaking of goals and such, this comic's 6-year anniversary is April 26! I'm thinking about running another contest. Dunno what to offer as prizes except what I have in the store. Maybe some original art or something. If I decide to do another contest, I'll have the info up next month.
Don't tell me you guys have forgotten about Azaq? His last appearance was back at the end of Chapter 7! A lot of what Vrin is saying here, when added to her and Azaq's conversation in chapter 7 (starting here), may reveal a few teensy secrets for anyone who looks closely enough. Not much else to say, really. It's a cheesy cliff-hanger page, but hey, I like cheesy sometimes.
Lastly, don't forget to check out my newest comic, What it Takes! Seven strips are up, with another on the way tomorrow. It updates W/F!
