For those of you who have forgotten the name of this comic, it's The War of Winds (NOT War of THE Winds, mind you.) I'm not referring to wind instruments like flutes and such there--I am referring to the Four Winds, from waaaaaaay back in the first 4 pages of this story. This chapter, Interim II (like Interim I), helps tie different people and places to the main storyline. I realize that with updates coming only once a week it's difficult to keep up with an epic storyline, especially when that storyline is fast reaching the 6-year mark, but there it is. In this chapter, you finally meet the Winds, face to face. Some of you will be quite confused. Some of you will have seen it coming. Some of you will give me WTF faces and angry emails.
For those who don't remember the Winds at ALL and don't care to go re-read the introduction, here's the short version! An'soru, the South Wind, is represented as the Lion. He was the first Wind made. Next came Ku, the East Wind, represented by the Dragon. Third was the Wolf, Tempest, the North Wind. Last was the Horse, Rahn, the West Wind. The order of creation is represented by the totem, but NOT their power. If the order were by power, Tempest and Ku would be at the top, equal.
The Winds are not gods. They do however, claim to be created by the gods. They are extremely powerful, but also very secretive.
AND I AM SO VERY GIDDY TO DRAW THEM FINALLY. Ahem. But first, I am taking 2 weeks off to recoup from three very tough weeks of classes. Need to get my head back in the game and the comic is a HUGE, though welcome, distraction. I've got an exam to ace, so I'll be back February 15 with the next page here. What it Takes, my newest comic, will update regularly, wednesday and fridays. It takes 1/10th the time to make. Today's War of Winds update wasn't even supposed to happen (and indeed, I will be up very late doing homework now), but I missed an update in January due to my computer blowing up (figuratively speaking) so this page was owed.
This month I'm bringing back the vote incentives at Top Web Comics! You can vote at Top Web Comics to see the next strip of What it Takes a few days early. Remember, you can vote for as many comics as you want each day, just once for each comic each day. It's not like an election or something!
