So, there's thing called a Mandate, and it appears only 1 exists at a time. Ravar says he got it first, for his mission: to return the Key to the Sacred Isles. Mai'nar (Elder Mai'nar, as Mersnai referred to him, and if you remember, there are only 3 Elders) supposedly gave Ravar the mandate, but Mai'nar appears to be dead. No one knows who killed him, but we know he was killed with Ashi (life force energy) and there was no resonance.
In other words, in this page, Mersnai is insinuating that Ravar killed Mai'nar with Ashi and is there without a Mandate. If being there without a Mandate is breaking the law (and from what little you know of Ayenroki, can imagine they're pretty strict with lawbreakers), Ravar is in for a heap of trouble...unless someone else can back up that Mai'nar gave Ravar the Mandate first. So Ravar, does anyone else know you're there?
Among Ayenroki, it is really bad manners to let your tail touch someone else's tail (unless you're, well, lovers). I have to be careful where and how I draw tails.
I also need to pay more attention to where I put swords so they don't look like giant steel erections. Ummm....yeah.
Yes, Cenron is correct when he says Ravar is "barely and adult!" Ravar is 25. Twenty-four is full adulthood in Ayenroki. Mersnai is 31. Cenron is 35. Ehranah is...well...never ask a lady her age. I'm going to say 40. Ayenroki live longer than humans, to an average age of 120.
Oh yes. "Rraseth" is Ravar and Mersnai's Clan name. There are 12 Clans of Ayenroki. Ehranah is of Clan Uurth, and Cenron of Clan Murro. Each Clan is known for certain abilities.
