Chapter 9 - Still Alive 3 - Page 6

March 12, 2012

EDIT: Wow, how the hell did I featured in "best webcomics ever (this week)?" AND the writer got my gender right! Wow. I'm honored, thank you Aaron Colter! Read what I'm talking about here.

Whoa, totally forgot to update this! I've been at the beach for only a day and a half and I've already completely lost track of time. It's quite wonderful.

You can vote to see the next page early! From the comments on the page, I see a few people are confused WHY poor U'hano is getting this reaction.

Spiderforest is doing a Comic of the Week feature once a week, and The War of Winds was featured last week! Welcome all you new readers, I hope you stick around and manage to get through the beginning chapters of this work. Please remember, I'm going on 8 years here, so things change a hell of a lot!

The featured comic this week is The Only Half Saga, by Denise "Darwin" Randall. Darwin credits me with inspiring her into the taking the jump into webcomics, but I don't think she gives herself enough credit! Darwin is a published writer and she was already an illustrator, so her comics, all based on her own novels and stories, were the logical next step!

The Only Half Saga is one of my favorite comics. Darwin's writing and style really shine through as we follow the half-vampire, half-human Cabal, (a "Dhampir" for those folks who know what that is!) through the apocalypse, how he and his psychotic mother survive, how he hunts his father with the intent to DESTROY that SOB, only to realize perhaps, there could be no better ally. It is a saga indeed! And a very good read. I recommend starting from here, it's one of my favorite chapters! This story can be NSFW though, so beware! It's not overly gratuitous in any respect, but there is nudity and swearing.

Darwin is also working on another comic here at SpiderForest called Gemutations: Plague! It is also highly recommended.

I wish I had more, but I don't! I'm going back out into the warm, warm sun. And perhaps the ice-cold water. WHOO!
