Far be it from me to complain about dinners out with the fam, but three nights in a row on the weekend...ok...all my working time GONE. So, that's why this page is sloppy,
incomplete, and obviously short-cutted.
I got sick of people asking why the Ayenroki dialogue was so archaic. I often expect far too much of readers who come here once a week. So far, Mersnai (and very, VERY occasionally, Ravar) has been the only Ayenroki to use contractions. Ayenroki consider it a mutilation of a language to smush words together for sake of saying something faster. Mersnai didn't give a smurf fart for that rule. He doesn't care about many rules at all, obviously.
In this page, Uurth refers to Ehranah's Clan, and Rraseth to Ravar's Clan. Rraseth is known for pride and arrogance (well, d'uh). They're all warriors, and all full of themselves. Comes with the bloodline. Uurth is known for skillful speaking and love of ceremonies. To Uurth, Rraseths rush into things foolishly, and need their heels cooled all the time. To Rraseth, Uurths are slow and methodical to the point of stupidity. They take too much time to do anything. Think...brute force vs. pin-point accuracy. They both can get the job done, and they don't mix well together.
So now that I've finally pointed out Ehranah's distaste with the use of contractions, and wasted a whole page in this chapter doing so, shall we get on with it already?
And notice Vrin in the background there? Oh my. It's like she's mirroring Ravar! Hasn't that mirror-thing happened before? Yes. Yes it has. And Azaq even mentioned that too. I'll get to what the heck ELSE is up with her later.
In other news, I have found I like drawing teeth. The end.
Keep an eye out for another videoblog. Meant to record it today, but yeah, obviously, no time! Also, new shirts in the store! Check 'em out! -->
