Please vote for, hmm, what do I have on file...Uhh...a self-portrait? Doesn't have anything to do with the comic, but my dog is in it!
Well, here it is! The final page of chapter 7. Uggghhhhhhhhhh. FORTY-EIGHT pages. I am now going to list the lessons I learned in this chapter:
1) NEVER have a grand staircase in a reappearing scene, especially one that curves, because stairs are hell.
2) Don't make complicated scenery for the hell of it especially if it's in a reappearing scene.
3) DON'T MAKE IT MORE COMPLICATED THAN IT NEEDS TO BE. Man, I am so incredibly tired of drawing stairs. D:
Anyways, I have to admit to a funny little screw-up here. Mersnai's greyken form first show in Chapter 7 Page 14 has a dark tail with a light tassel. The whole time here, I've been coloring him with a light tail and dark tassel. UGH! There are so many little details to remember in this comic that I end up forgetting half. I won't even start on how the sandals of the triad have changed. *eyeroll* The previous page showed Mersnai's tail getting darker to try and make it more seamless, because I am far too lazy to go and edit all of those files.
Another funny goof: Ayenroki on assignment off the Isles are issued a special type of clothing, much like Under Armour, but a little different. All of the tight clothing they are wearing (only the shirts are visible) are this kind, as well as some not-so-visible clothes. This attire is made that should it be necessary, the changing of form back from greyken to [mostly] human doesn't leave one butt-nekkid. Fur grows THROUGH the clothing. The majority of clothing isn't this type, and that's what's falling off as Mersnai transforms here. So, way back in Chapter 5, Ravar should have transformed back wearing only his skivvies. Eh, it's more convenient in a graphic setting this way anyhow. Though...it would have been a lot of fun drawing Ravar in his undies. Bwah hah hah. The lessons we learn on long-form comics! X3
A QUESTION FOR THE READERS: I need your opinions on what STYLE of art I make. I can't label it, I can't shove it in a box where it fits comfortably. And I'm ok with that! But what do YOU think it is?
Lastly (though most importantly) I hope all you readers are enjoying the story, especially now that the pace has picked up a bit. Come back next week for the Chapter 8, titled "The Shatter." And don't forget about the new TWoW Store! More items next week hopefully, as well as some amusing designs.
