Those of you who have expressed interest in reading the novel may want to check here from time to time. I will be posting sometimes excerpts, sometimes whole chapters, as I get to editing them. Currently, there are 3 chapters up, and they are quite different from the comic versions.
So, for the first time in TWO YEARS I had the time to pick up a controller and play videogames. And what game did I choose? Prince of Persia? Dark Sector? Mario Kart? No, you silly, silly people. I went back to the GREAT game, not the simply-incredibly-good games. I started playing FFIII again (FFVI for you true fans). oooohhhhh, I drool just thinking about playing it again. I just wish my fingers remembered the code for all of Sabin's blitzes! Those blitzes were one reason why I loved playing Legend of the Dragoon so much, since they were similar in execution (no pun intended.) :D
Okay, okay, the REAL reason you're reading this (hiding it in your post, how lame, KEZ!): the extra page challenge. I'm updating a day early, and the challenge is open until MONDAY, 11:59 EST.
If TWENTY-FIVE people comment, there will be an extra page on THURSDAY. Didn't quite make it. I'm going to try this one more week and then give it up. With how many people read this comic, I didn't think it'd be such a difficult challenge!
Back to my blogging, because I'm in an odd, blogging-type mood, this page was so fun to color. Especially the last two panels. I love making clouds and pastoral backgrounds in Photoshop. It's what I look forward to the most. Thunderheads especially are great to make, because there's 3-5 distinct cloud layers: the whisps in front, the rain-laden cumulus clouds surrounding it, the cumulo-nimbus head itself, the whisps behind the thunderhead where the wind is shaping it, and the ring-like clouds that surround the head itself. And some parts are darker or lighter, and that really helps in itself to give it the shape of a cloud, and not a blob. :D
Anyways, I'm curious to hear what you guys think of Azaq so far! (I'm sorry his thought balloons keep changing, btw. I think I've finally settled on a design for them.) He reminds me personally of a cat. Sly little devils they are!
