Again, I apologize for the lack of articles this past week. I’m giving a talk on webcomics on the 22nd, and I’m forcing myself to sit down and WRITE out the presentation. I haven’t even been allowing myself to watch Lost online, and it’s seriously killing me. This will be the 3rd talk I’ve given about webcomics, and I greatly enjoy educating people around my age about the ART of making comics. I’m tired of people looking down their noses at what can be a very hard, but very satisfying, hobby or profession. I think also, if only because of the subject matter and “LOOK PRETTY PICTURES SHINY” powerpoint presentations, the people I’m presenting to find it enjoyable as well. I usually get tons of questions, and no sleepers. I THINK that’s a good sign. Maybe I should bring CANDY. Everyone loves candy…(except the professor who has to deal with the class when I leave…)

Those people interested in joining ComicDish, Dread Pirate Dax popped in and left an important comment which I will copy here:

Hi there!
This is the pirate face on Comic Dish dot com. We heard of the problems and have a temporary work around.
The info is on the main page, but in case there’s any confusion; in order to make a comic account all you have to do is create an account in the forums. The system automatically generates a comic account for you as well. From there you can add new comics via the account button.

I’m sorry for the troubles and we hope to get things resolved soon.
Thanks!

Someone has also been trying to hack CD recently, so you may come across a browser warning preventing you from immediately viewing the site. The guys in charge are on top of that. Regardless of these recent issues, I still stand by my 9/10 score for them as a host. Something people new to webcomics or sitebuilding may not understand is that when sites get large, work must constantly be done to minimize growing pains, and sometimes things aren’t perfect the first time around. A good comic host may often flux, seeking to improve features and interfaces. A little blip in the radar is nothing to worry about.

Enough procrastinating from me. I’m going to do one of the requested articles and another of the webcomic website reviews next. The next host up for review is SmackJeeves, if anyone is interested.
