I plan to apply for SpiderForest once applications open. I look forward to at least giving it a shot, whatever decision the collective makes regarding my application. There are a lot of cool comics within the collective that make it intriguing to me.

Just back from checking the SF, looks promising… although i don’t feel to confident to put up my artworks among those fabulous members. they got nice and clean arts! but i really want to get started, so judging from my arts, do you suggest i continue and send hosting request to SF?

I was wondering about having to change hosting, too, since I don’t really er, want or need to, but besides that I’d love to be a part of the collective.

I’ll probably wait anyway, because I haven’t updated enough.

SF is definitely worth it. Not only will you DEFINITELY gain a larger readership simply due to being a member, but it’s just damn nice to be part of a community interested in the same goals as you. I’ve considered going solo before, but it’s so lonely out there! I don’t think I have the guts, nor the audience to support that.

For Palace: yeah, the ad space IS kind of big, but they’re not kidding about spending money to advertise the comics there. That ad size is the only spot that makes what they put into advertising come back out. Palace is consistently in my top 10 referrers though, if not top 3. So yeah, I say it’s worth it as well. The same thing goes about the community there. It’s a private community, for members only, but there’s some cool stuff going on. I greatly enjoy being a part of it.

Either place you can also leave when you want, if you’re worried about commitments or contracts or anything! We don’t got any of those buggers.

I’ve noticed you’re in both Palace in the Sky and Spider Forest so I’m gonna ask some minor questions about both…

In terms of Spider Forest: I already have my own hosting. Is Spider Forest worth being a member of purely on the advertising/networking aspect?

In terms of Palace: Sort of similar, I know they require GIANT ad space, do you feel the return on the circulation of Palace membership is worth that chunk of ad space devoted to them?
